Abstract | This paper asserts that there have not been adequate studies about the comparative quality of Turkish universities to provide information and data for prospective students, advisors, university administrators, and policymakers. Turkey has more than 70 state and private universities. Most of these are relatively new, although Turkish higher education dates back to the 11th century, Higher education quality assessment, rating, and ranking research would facilitate competition among higher education institutions and provide the basis for further studies of Turkish higher education.
